COMMUNITY PANTRY

IS NOW OPEN EVERY SUNDAY

from 3.30-4.30pm in DOONMORE STREET
opposite PENRITH PRIMARY SCHOOL

“Nicole Mannyx has rolled up her sleeves to create a pantry that offers free groceries, low-cost personal items and

a friendly chat. Nicole is a deaconess at St Andrew’s Penrith Presbyterian Church. During the Covid-19 lockdowns,

she became concerned about people falling into financial distress. In addition, she was aware that many food

support programs had been forced to suspend their services.

Not one to sit idly when people were in need, Nicole opened a Covid-safe community pantry at the church for

anyone in the community. One of the special features was that it offered gluten and dairy-free items.

When the lockdowns ended, Nicole and her fellow volunteers realised few services were catering for food intolerances, so

they decided to keep the pantry going.

Today the pantry offers free standard groceries as well as items for people with special dietary needs. It also

provides heavily discounted personnel hygiene and cleaning products.
