Big idea: Despite immense wisdom, and a warning from God, Solomon’s love for money, and political alliances spread to a love for trophy wives, which spread to a love for idolatry and judgement from God. In contrast, Jesus never failed to treat people (including women) with honour and respect, and never turned to idols and so became the eternal king.
