Big idea: Actions can have immediate consequences and others we don’t see for hundreds of years. Jeroboam sets Israel on a trajectory of syncretism, idolatry and judgement they can’t get off. In contrast, Jesus plants the church that will grow and can never be overcome. God graciously allows your actions to play a role in this unfolding story for good or ill.
